Passage

Passage is a digital mental health resource targeted to directly improve the well-being of new Canadians.

 

Whether they are coming to seek work, join family, or escape hardship, immigrants have a variety of stressors that may lead to declined mental health. Factors such as financial stress and finding accommodations, adjusting to a new climate and struggling with language barriers are just some of the challenges a newcomer may face.

Furthermore, navigating the mental health system can be convoluted and confusion even for Canadian citizens, as well as expensive and not always easily accessible.

 

To help address these issues, Passage provides a safe, easily accessible platform for new Canadians to connect with counsellors and navigate the mental health system, work on their own to learn self-help skills and join a community of like-minded individuals.

 

By using the website, Passage users can access the help they need to improve their mental well-being and facilitate the beginnings of their lives in Canada.

Passage’s name represents both the literal and metaphorical journey that users go through. Users pass not only into a new country, but may need to pass through rough seas to arrive at a peaceful state of mind.
